One Month Checkup

Yesterday, we took Little Man in for his 1 month checkup. He's really 5 weeks old, but our doctor was on vacation last week.

Dr. Reyes said that he looks great. He weighs 11 pounds (68%) and is 22 inches long (53%). He did have to get his Hep B shot. The good news is that he was actually eating during the shot - and only cried for a few seconds before going back to his bottle. Whew!

Today, I go in for my 6 week postpartum checkup. I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure everything is fine.

Property of Mom

Jocelyn has been getting on my case :) about posting pictures of Little Man in the onesie his Aunt "Oggy" got him.
And yes Jocelyn - it still fits!

Oh, and at the end he wanted to change outfits - I think he's more happy in this one - what do you think? haha

Birthday Weekend with the Folks

This weekend we went to New Boston to spend the weekend with my parents. We got there Friday night and left this afternoon.

It was nice hanging out with them and my parents even watched Little Man so Tom and I could go out and celebrate my birthday on Saturday. I chose to go to the movies (we saw The Ugly Truth - funny!) and went out to lunch. It was the first time since we had the baby that we did anything without him! It wasn't hard to leave him since I trust my parents completely - I mean they did raise a perfect kid (Me - haha). We also went shopping - I need to find a bathing suit and a couple cover-ups before the beach (since I haven't lost all the baby weight yet). That night, my Aunts and Uncles that live in the area came over to hang out for a while.

Today (my actual birthday), the five of us went out to lunch at Carino's before Tom and I headed back to Dallas. I think Tommy had fun hanging out with his Texas Grandparents. One more week until he gets to see his Pennsylvania Grandparents and his Aunt Christine and Uncle Eddie.

One Month Old!

Today we took Little Man to the mall to get his one month old pictures taken. He looked so cute and even had 2 outfit changes. We decided to go with the "beach" theme since we are heading to Florida the first week in August. I've attached some of my favorite pictures from the shoot.

Little Man's First Playdate

Tonight, Tom, Little Man and I went over to our friends Chris and Chuck's house for dinner. They had a son (Charlie) about a month before Tommy was born. Tommy was pretty fussy today - and cried more than I would have liked while we were at their house.

It was a lot of fun hanging out with them and we are hoping that they will become friends since we live so close. Oh, and of course I forgot my camera and had to take the pictures with my phone.

It's a little after midnight and since Little Man has been up most of the day - I'm hoping he sleeps for a while tonight. :)

Another gift from my co-workers

Tonight, Melissa (my boss) dropped off a gift basket from the accounting department for Little Man. I have the most thoughtful co-workers ever!

The gift basket includes:
  • 3 bibs
  • Romo onesie jersey
  • Bottle
  • Onesie
  • Stuffed football
  • Kid's Plate set
  • Blanket
  • Pacifier
  • Sippie Cup

Oh, and did I mention it's all Cowboys stuff. I think they are trying to convert him - haha!

Here's a picture of the gift basket.

Continuing to Celebrate Tom's Birthday

Tom thinks that July is his birthday month (which I disagree with).I told him he can have the weekend, but I get the rest of the month.

Yesterday afternoon, Jocelyn came over to hang out for about an hour and we all headed to Dave & Busters to meet Byron, Michelle and Madison for dinner and games - Jocelyn didn't get to stay for the games :( . We had a lot of fun and didn't end up getting home until close to 11:30. Whew - it was a long night.

Tom was really excited about the tickets he won on the trivia game.

I didn't get any pictures of Jocelyn, but if you head to this link - she posted some really cute pictures of the both of them. http://whoneedsinkandpaper.blogspot.com/2009/07/baby-thomas.html

Tom's 30th Birthday

On Friday, we celebrated Tom's 30th birthday. He got the day off from work (how cool is that!) and played golf with our neighbor in the morning. Once he got home, we went to Delaney's Irish Pub for a late lunch with our neighbors and then headed out to get his gifts. We got a really good deal on pants at the Perry Ellis store and he picked out some golf shoes and golf balls at Dick's.

That night, we went out to dinner at Fireside Pies (yum) and then came home and called it a night.

Little Man's 2 Week Checkup

Yesterday, Tom & I took Tommy in for his 2 week checkup. Dr. Reyes said that he is perfect. He weighed in at exactly 9 pounds and is 21.5 inches long (up from 20 inches at birth).

The only thing that I hated about the appointment was when they had to stick his foot to draw blood for the Infant Screening Test required by the State of Texas. He definitely didn't like that - and it's hard to see him crying like that! :(

Little T's trips on Thursday and Friday

Thursday, we made the trip to Double Oak to visit Tommy's great gram. She enjoyed meeting him and he was actually really good while we were there. We stayed until about 9 that night before heading home.

Friday afternoon, we ventured out to do 2 wine tastings. The first stop was to this place called Zin Zen Wine Bistro in McKinney. It was really yummy. I did the Riesling wine flight and Tom's mom did the Shiraz wine flight - the boys got beer. After we left there, we went to Landon Winery in downtown McKinney for another wine tasting. The wine there was really good and we ended up getting a couple bottles. Tom and I will probably go back there again to sample some of their other wines.

Baby Thomas' First Walk

Tonight, Tom, his mom and I took the baby and the puppies for a walk around the neighborhood. Little Tommy stayed awake the whole time taking in his surroundings and staring at the top of his stroller.

We also started doing "tummy time exercises" with him. They are supposed to help build his neck and shoulder muscles.
