Mother's Day Weekend

Friday, the kids and I got up early so we could enjoy the Muffins with Mom at daycare. We were one of the first ones there and got our choice of muffins/donuts. I was there with the kids for about 20 minutes before I had to drag myself away from the kids to go to work.

When I got home from work that night the kids gave me my gifts. I loved both gifts from the kids. They also gave me a new pair of Toms shoes, a charm necklace and a Kate Spade black and white crossbody bag - dang they have good taste!

Tommy's was cute (and funny). He thinks I'm an awesome/fun mom. I hope he remembers this when he's a teen.

I loved Grace's little "flower" pot.

Sunday morning, we met Tom's parents at the Ligonier Country Inn for a breakfast buffet. The food was good and I think we all ate WAY to much food, but since it was a special weekend - those calories don't count.

Best breakfast picture we could get.

I love Grace's face - haha!

That afternoon, we went out to Greendance Winery for a little wine and live music. It was one of the first nice days out, so the winery was pretty crowded. We stayed there until closing (which was at 5) and then went home to play outside with the kids the rest of the evening.

Easter Weekend

I had Good Friday off of work so I got to spend the day with the kids. We didn't do much, but we did color eggs with Grammy during the morning. The rest of the day we spent playing outside, watching shows and playing in the basement.

Tommy is really concentrating

Saturday, Tom and I took the kids to Latrobe for an Easter Egg Hunt. Before the hunt started, they had a raffle where one kid from each age group won an Easter basket. Tommy was the lucky winner from the 4-5 bracket. The basket was right up his alley - a TMNT one.

The kids had fun hunting for eggs and Grace even braved the Easter Bunny (I had to sit with her) so she could get a handful of chocolate candy (yes, we have a Chocolate addict on our hands).

Grace couldn't wait to open her eggs

Can you tell how excited Grace is to see the bunny?

We had Easter dinner Saturday night, since we were going to the Pirates game on Easter Sunday.

Sunday morning, the kids woke to some loot from the Easter Bunny and hidden eggs outside (thanks to their day care). They liked hunting for eggs and were good at spotting a majority of them.

We all got to the game early to tailgate. We had a feast of Eggs in a Basket, bacon, fruit and pierogies before the game and hot dogs after the game. The Pirates didn't win, but the kids loved the Pirate Sock Monkeys they received for attending.

The Start of 2 Seasons

April was a big month for Tom our family - the Pirates season started and Tommy's soccer season started.

On April 6th, the family (minus Tom) and Grammy went to our first Pirates game of the season. It was a little chilly outside, but since our seats were in the sun, it wasn't too bad. Tommy & Grace were pumped because it was replica bat day for kids under 14. Tommy was in heaven, but lets just say that I was scared someone would be hit with the HUGE bat. If anyone did get hit with a bat - it wasn't by my kids - whew!

Look at that bat

That same week (on April 10th), the spring soccer season started. Tommy is on the purple team with Coach Tom (aka Daddy) and Coach Wyatt. They've had a few practices and Tommy has scored quite a few goals. Maybe it helps that Tommy has his own cheering section. :)

Adults Only

The first week in April, Tom & I had 2 "date" nights.

The first was on Tuesday, April 1st. We were given 2 tickets to the Penguins game by my company. The seats were great (club level at center ice). This was our first time to attend a game at Consol Energy Center - and after this we might be spoiled. :) We stayed through most of the 3rd quarter, but had to leave around 9:00 so we could get home to relieve our help.

On Thursday of that same week, we headed back to Pittsburgh to attend the Girls Hope (http://www.girlshope.org/) fundraiser sponsored by Northwestern Mutual. It was at Sienna Mercato (http://www.siennapgh.com/mercato/) and the event was nice. We got to meet some new people and hang out with friends (and of course support a good cause).

It was a good (but busy) week for us and I'm glad we got to have some "adult" time.
