38 (and almost a 1/2) Week Checkup

Today, I had my 38 week checkup with Dr. Shimer. He said that everything is looking good and I even lost 1 pound from last week. I'm not exactly sure how that happened since I feel like I have been eating a ton!

So far, I am 60% effaced and 2 centimeters dilated. I can tell that I am having random contractions, but they are so infrequent that I'm not too worried that Grace will come before her due date.

We did set up the induction (months ago) for March 7th (my due date) so I guess we need to hurry up and finish getting everything ready for her arrival. :)

38 Weeks & 2 days

Nice Saturday at the Park

Since it seems like we have been cooped up in the house a lot lately with the weather and Tommy being sick, we decided to take Tommy to the park in his wagon on Saturday.

He loves being outside and enjoyed every minute we were there.

He was being very adventurous and running around to play on everything.

Valentine's Weekend 2011

After Tommy's party at daycare, my dad took Tommy home with him so Tom and I could have our last weekend alone before Grace arrives.

I was sad to see Tommy go, so I decided to cheer myself up by getting a pedicure before Tom got home from work. We decided to go out to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings (yum).

Saturday, Tom worked most of the day, while I was out running errands. That night Tom took me out to dinner at Simply Fondue (he's so sweet). He made the reservation weeks ago - he probably got tired of me talking about how good fondue sounded all the time. :) It was a nice, relaxing dinner and we left the restaurant stuffed!

Picture after the chocolate fondue - notice the bowl is empty (hey - it was good)
We headed straight down to Choctaw in Durant for a little gambling (we would do this anytime we could). It turned out to be a VERY profitable trip for us. I won almost $100 and Tom ended up hitting the $1,000 spin on the Wheel of Fortune machine. Woo-hoo!!! We were so excited - that has never happened to us before. Needless to say, we didn't stay too long after that (plus it was already 12:30).

This morning we got up and went to see Just Go With It at the movies. I know it got bad reviews, but we both really liked it and laughed the whole movie. We relaxed at home for a little while after the movie and then met my parents halfway to get Tommy.

Tom and I had a great weekend and it's definitely nice to do things together every once in a while - but I sure was glad to see my little man and he was so happy to see us!

Tommy's Valentine's Party

On Friday, my dad and I went to Tommy's school for his Valentine's Party. I love going to any party that Tommy is involved in. He gets so excited when I walk into the room.

Tom usually goes with me, but with all the work we've missed lately - he stayed at work and instead my dad came with me (him and my mom were keeping Tommy this weekend anyway).

Tommy looked so cute in his little Love Monkey shirt I bought on sale last year right after Valentine's Day and he loves to show off when we visit his class. He will get out of his chair and run around the room like a wild man (he has so much energy - it's hard for me to keep up with right now).

Tommy and Grandpa

Most of the other kids ate all their food - but Tommy only ended up eating 1 cookie and walking around the room with another one. I swear - I don't know whose kid he is sometimes - I mean really - who DOESN'T like cookies/sweets!

He also walked up to the name tags on the wall and said the kid's name that was written on each tag - I kid you not it was the funniest thing ever!

On a side note - anytime Tom or I pick him up he runs to his little hook on the wall and hands us his jacket and gets his bag to carry (or drag in his case) to the car. It's the cutest thing!!!

Super Bowl Weekend

Last weekend, Tom's parents came down and we made it a football filled weekend despite the weather.

On Saturday morning, we went to the NFL Experience in downtown Dallas (with the free tickets my work provided). It was a lot of fun and Tommy even participated in a couple of things. It's a good thing we got down there pretty early, because when we left it was extremely crowded. We didn't even get a chance to go to the NFL store because the line was SOOO long to get in.

Go Steelers!
Sunday, our neighbors babysat for us so we could head down to the Stadium to tailgate before the big game. We missed the traffic getting in so we got a little more tailgating time in. We were lucky in that we were in a lot with a majority of Steeler's fans. We headed in to the Stadium at around 4:00 and we got lucky again in that we got to walk right in - we didn't have to wait in the long lines that everyone complained about.

About to head in to the game

Tom and I sat in the temporary seating section and had a good view of the field. We really enjoyed watching the game (except for the fact that our team lost) and the halftime show with the Black Eyed Peas was great!

Once again we got lucky leaving the stadium - we missed all the traffic and got home in under an hour.

It was an exciting night - and I never thought I would be able to say that I've been to a Super Bowl while I was 30!
