My 30th Birthday

On Monday, I celebrated my 30th birthday. Since it fell on a Monday (and we did my sister's shower this weekend), we didn't really do much.

Tom did get me some pretty flowers and a nice watch (that I need to pick out). Tommy got a card for me and even signed it. :)

My dinner choice for the evening was Buffalo Wild Wings - probably one of my favorite restaurants. I love the Caribbean Jerk boneless wings with an order of the cheddar wedges. Yum!

Kimberly's Baby Shower

On Saturday morning, Tom, Tommy and I headed up to East Texas to co-host a shower for my sister, Kimberly.

Me, Kimberly & My Mom

She is due on September 17th with a baby girl.

We had a good turnout for the shower - with about 15 people showing up. There was a lot of good food and the cake was very tasty.

The Loot

Kimberly received a lot of gifts off her registry and ended up with quite a few outfits for baby Kylee.

Sitting in My Chair

We are planning on getting Tommy his own little chair, but until we do he is settling for his little high chair.

Fredericksburg

On Friday morning, the 3 of us along with my parents headed down to Fredericksburg for a mini-vacation.

We got there around 3:00 and checked in to our 2 bedroom cottage. It was only 2 blocks from Main Street.

The Corner House

After unpacking the car, we walked down to Main Street to look at all the cutsie little shops. We stopped to eat an early dinner at Bejas Grill & Cantina (http://www.bejasgrill.com/). The food wasn't that great. We walked around a little more after dinner and then headed back to the house.

Saturday morning, Tom and I got up and went over to the National Museum of the Pacific War. It was really interesting seeing everything. We spent a couple hours there before heading to a few wineries. Yum!

Grape Creek Winery (one of our favorites)

My mom even had a couple sips

Note: There was no alcohol consumption in the photo below - Tommy is such a little ham!

That night for dinner we went to Fredericksburg Brewing for dinner (http://www.yourbrewery.com/). It was MUCH better than the restaurant we went to the first night. Tommy was fussy at dinner so Tom took him home to get him ready for bed. We think he was just tired, but the fact that he is getting his 9th (wow) tooth probably didn't help!

We checked out Sunday morning and made it back to Dallas around 4:30. It was a great weekend!

Swimming Video's

I took a couple videos of Tommy swimming today. He learned how to jump to his daddy from the side of the pool. Once he got going - he didn't want to stop..

Tom's 31st Birthday

Tom woke us Saturday morning still feeling sick. Being the nice wife that I am I let him sleep in while Tommy and I went to run some errands.

When we got home mid-afternoon, Tom's fever just broke so he was feeling 80% better. He decided he was well enough to open his presents (a Sky Caddie SG5 from me, wine goodies from his parents and money from my parents).

We went out to dinner with our neighbors, Tim and Tina (Tim's birthday was the day before Tom's) to this nice restaurant in downtown Plano called Urban Crust (http://www.urbancrust.com/). It was really yummy! Tom and I ordered 2 small pizzas and even had the chocolate cake for dessert. Tommy had a great time people watching - and he had the perfect view...we had a booth on the 2nd floor with an excellent view of the stairs. He was also being a little ham waving at all the people walking by. :)

Happy Birthday Tom!

Lonestar Park

Every year, our boss either takes us to Training Camp for a weekend or to Lonestar Park. This year it was Lonestar Park. My Uncle Ricky came over to babysit Tommy so Tom and I could go.

We had 2 suites on the 5th level - so we had free food and alcohol all night. It was a lot of fun, but it rained the whole night.

Around the 5th race, the whole computer system went down so you couldn't make bets or collect your winnings (we didn't have any - haha). After waiting a while for the system to come up (and partially because Tom wasn't feeling well, we decided to just head out around 9:30.

1st Week of Swim Lessons

I signed Tommy up for 2 weeks of swim lessons so he could get used to the water. I believe the age group starts at 6 months and goes up to 3 years old.

He had a great first week (they go Monday through Thursday) and loves getting into the pool. Tom holds him the whole time, but he has been on his back, scooped the water and gone under a few times (he didn't mind - he was just surprised). They always start and end the class with a song, which Tommy enjoys.

Our little man is going to be swimming like a fish in no time!
