Christmas Tree & Christmas Program

We headed out to get the Rennie Family Christmas tree on December 9th. Of course we picked a cold day to go, but the kids had fun helping us pick out a Frasier Fur.

Grace was kind enough to take a photo of the tree we picked out

On December 11th, the kids school had their Christmas program at a church in downtown Greensburg.

Grace was so happy

I took a video of each song the kids performed, but they are kind of long, so I selected a couple of the shorter videos to put on the blog.

Tommy was so cute!!

Grace was adorable....

Rennie & Associates Christmas Party

Rennie & Associates had their Christmas party on Saturday (Dec 6th) at Ligonier Country Club's Party in a Party. This is something the club has done in the past, where quite a few companies all have their parties on the same night.

It was a very nice night, especially since we had our on room. There was a cheese fondue on every table followed by a salad. After the salad course, everyone went up to the buffet for potatoes, carrots, beef tenderloin, stuffed chicken and some type of fish. The evening was capped off with a caramel fondue.

After everyone was stuffed from all that food, we had a gift exchange for all the employees. I think everyone liked the gifts they ended up with (and no one wanted to steal - what's up with that!).

Thanksgiving 2014

On Thanksgiving Day we went to the Moose Club in Coraopolis for dinner and games with Tom's family.

It was a pretty drive down - with big chunks of snow falling.

We had a lot of fun - eating, doing children's crafts, playing bingo & participating in the silent auction.

I'm very thankful for these 2 cuties..

and this handsome fella.

Tom & Grace taking a break from Bingo to be silly.

Tommy still likes to sit on my lap, which makes me happy.

Tommy won 2 prizes in the silent auction.

Grace was happy with her bubbles.

She really enjoyed Bingo.

We did drive through downtown Pittsburgh on the way home to look at the lights and the store windows.

It was a fun day and once we got home, I went out to do a little black (?) Thursday shopping. I only went to three places - Walmart, Toys R Us & the mall. I got a large chuck of my Christmas shopping for the kids done and I was home by 11:00.

Road Trip to Indiana

The weekend of November 8th, we met up with our friends Byron & Michelle in Gary, Indiana.

The four of us left Friday morning around 7:30 and drove on the toll road a majority of the way there. Other than a stop for lunch and gas, the trip up was pretty uneventful. We did make time to drive through Notre Dame's Campus. It was very pretty and Tommy said he wants to go there when he is bigger (maybe we need to put a little more in their college funds).

"Touchdown" Jesus

We got to the rental house around 4:30 and the Pikes got there around 5:30. Tom & I made dinner that night (tacos) and then just stayed up talking for a few hours.

Tommy had the bed to himself

Saturday, Tom & I made breakfast burritos (we all miss Whataburger) for breakfast. The rest of the morning was spent playing with kids and talking. Tom & Byron grilled hot dogs for lunch and we spent the afternoon watching football. Around 4:00 or so, we walked down to the beach in the freezing cold. The kids liked it. They all wrote their names in the sand and collected sea shells.

Once we got back to the house, the guys got a fire going in the fire pit and the kids played outside for a bit. We had bar-b-que pulled turkey for dinner and after the kids went to "bed" the adults played Mexican Train.

We were up and ready to go by 8:30 on Sunday morning (the Pikes were staying an extra day). Madison and Grace were both sad that we were leaving.

It was a great weekend and the kids got along so well together - I can't wait until our next trip.
