Tommy's 3 Year Pictures

Today, I took Tommy in for his 3 year photos (only a month late). He did a great job - it was also a little cute - he was bashful during some of the shots.

Tommy is so handsome and such a happy little boy.

Best Friends

Tommy and Grace are so cute together. I wish I had my camera with me all the time to catch their "cute" moments.

Tommy is the best big brother Grace could have ever asked for.

  • He shares his food with her without complaining.
  • He lets her throw the ball to him when we are playing baseball and doesn't get mad when her aim is a little (okay - a lot) off.
  • He gives her kisses all the time.
  • He loves to rough house with her - and she's a champ most of the time giggling about it - she does get mad when he pins her down though.
  • He got SO excited when she started walking - and made sure we knew when she took a few steps.
  • He is very protective. If any of his friends go up to her, he runs over, touches her leg and says that's "My Gracie."
Grace is the best little sister to Tommy.
  • She shares her juice cup with him.
  • She hands him the toys she is playing with, even when he doesn't want them.
  • She LOVES chasing him around the house.
  • She likes to yell at him to get his attention and laughs when he looks.
  • She likes to give him hugs and when he gives her hugs.
  • She gets really excited when we walk to his classroom and has a huge smile on her face when she spots him.

She loves doing what he does.

Weekend With the TX Grandparents

On Friday night, we headed up to North Texas to spend the weekend with my parents.

Saturday, Tom went to play golf and the rest of us went shopping. Our main goal was to find a pair of cowboy boots for Tommy. This was his reward for doing an awesome job potty training.

I know I haven't really talked about it much on the blog, but it has been fairly easy on our part. Other than the first 2 days, Tommy hasn't really had any accidents during the day. We are still using Pull Ups at night, but half of the time they are dry in the morning. After he got over his fear of pooping in the potty, he has done great with that too. He does like to look at a magazine while he is going though. We usually flip through an US Weekly or In Touch and he points out the color of the girls dresses. :) If daddy happens to be sitting with him, he makes Tommy look at a Golf Magazine (boring).

Anyway, we found a nice pair of boots at Cavender's and of course while we were there he ended up talking Grandma and Grandpa into getting him a cowboy hat and a western shirt. It's so funny - he's on a Back to the Future III kick and he loves reenacting some of the scenes with us.

Howdy Pardner!

Grace liked to chill in the kitchen with Grandpa

Wearing his pearl snap cowboy shirt

Of course since that was our first stop, he ended up wearing his boot and hat (with shorts - haha) to every store we went to. He did get a lot of compliments from women though - so maybe he's onto something.

The rest of the day was spent hanging out at my parents' house (other than when my mom and I snuck away to do a little shopping by ourselves).

Sunday, my dad made a ton of food and we celebrated Tom, Kimberly and my birthday with a Ice Cream Cake from Dairy Queen.

Grandpa getting all the attention

We had to leave right after lunch so we could make it back in time for Tommy to attend a birthday party for one of his friends. It was at this art place. I think Tommy had a good time. They got to paint a banner and make their own treasure chest. Tommy chose to paint his in pink and purple (and blue and orange). What!?!

Yes - that's my son's pink and purple treasure chest

Horsey Time

Sometimes our kids get bored with their toys and make up new things to do.

This is one of those things...

Pretend like their daddy is a horsey. :)

The Little Stinker Can Walk

Grace has been kind of walking, but mainly crawling for the past couple weeks. Ever since we got back from the beach though, she has decided she can move pretty fast when she walks (i.e. get into more stuff that she's not supposed to) and has made that her primary mode of transportation.

Here's the stinker in action:

Seagrove Beach 2012

Two weeks ago, we took our annual trip to Florida for a relaxing (yeah right - our kids keep it interesting) time.

We split the drive on the way down, stopping in Covington, LA on Friday night. Friday also happened to be Tommy's 3rd birthday.

Thank goodness for the entertainment system in the car.

Since it was Tommy's B-day - we bought him a gas station bat - he loves it can you tell

He also got to pick where we ate lunch - of course he wanted chicken nuggets

Grace kept climbing in the cabinets at the hotel

Our annual tradition - the Florida rest stop

Of course, the first day we get there Tropical Storm Debby decides she wants to visit too. She hangs out with us the first couple of days. Thank goodness she cut her trip short and left us on Monday afternoon.

We did a taco bar for our night to cook

We also celebrated Tommy's, Eddie's & Tom's birthdays

Grace also loves to read like her mommy

Grace is happy that Debby left!

The rest of the week, we lounged around at the beach (the kids didn't move from their beach towels), ate and watched Despicable Me over and over - per Tommy's request.

Tommy and Grammy making Rice Krispie Treats (he was a big helper at the beach)

Both kids never moved off the towels - haha - at least we didn't have to worry about where they were

I bet he's watching Despicable Me here

OMG - he left the towel - we couldn't keep him off the sand Friday afternoon
