Monster Jam

On Saturday, February 15th we headed up to Pittsburgh for dinner and some Monster truck action.

We walked across the street from Consol Energy Center to eat dinner at Blue Line Grill.  The food was good and the kids loved the sports atmosphere.

Tommy had to take a picture with the forks.

Since Tommy took a photo, Grace had to take one too.

After dinner we headed back to Consol for Monster Jam.

Tommy really enjoyed it, but Grace was scared most of the time. So Tom and I took turns walking around with her. She did end up watching towards the end with the motorcycle tricks and the truck freestyle activity.

Overall it was a good night for everyone. 😄

Action for Animals Event

On Saturday, February 8th, Tom and I attended the Action for Animals charity event at the Latrobe Country Club.

They had hors' devours, a 50/50 raffle, Chinese Auction and a Silent Auction. We didn't win anything, but we did have a nice time.

After the event, we headed to the Tin Lizzy, a small bar right up the street for a couple drinks.

Home Depot Workshop

A few weeks ago, I took the kids to Home Depot for their monthly kids workshop.

The craft was a race car. I just want to say that I'm generally able to do simple things, but putting that car together with a hammer was a little difficult. Some of the screws were so tiny! I think the kids even thought I was a little slow, because Tommy mentioned that daddy would be able to do it --- well sure he could, since hammering is a man job! Haha!

After FINALLY getting it together the kids enjoyed painting, putting stickers on it and racing it with the other kids there.

Jan 2014 - Month in Review

January was a pretty busy month for us.

Almost 2 weeks of the month for me was spent in Texas (work related). Tom and the kids joined me for some of that time. While in Texas we took the kids bowling for the first time. They both loved it!

The flight to TX was delayed a while - so Tom improvised during nap time...

and play time. :)

Tom & Tommy riding motorcycles

Grace got a picture of me - haha!

So sweet - walking around the Gaylord

Playing in the hotel

Watching the trains

Tom and I also got a little alone time, since the kids spent a couple days with my parents. We took advantage - by going to a Happy Hour and going to see two movies (Jack Ryan and Lone Survivor). We also made sure to get in a bar-b-que lunch at one of the best places in DFW (in my opinion) - Hard 8.

Yum.

Once we got back from Texas, I wrapped up my work with the Cowboys - my last day was January 31st. I am sad that my job ended, but it was a great opportunity and I'm very appreciative that they let me work remotely as long as they did. Some other good news is that I was able to find a new job as an Accounting Manager in the area. I'm excited about this new chapter and can't wait to see what February brings!

Here are some other pictures from the month (I didn't take many):

Tommy posing for Aunt Kimmy (she got that shirt for him)

Moochie wanted a picture too.

Hollywood pictures at school (Grace wouldn't do them)

Bath time

Grace loves to take closeups.

Cheese.
