New Stadium

On Wednesday, the Cowboys organization hosted an employee appreciation luncheon and rewarded certain employees for years of service (5 years, 10 years, etc.). It was the first event held at the stadium. The luncheon was in this big area on the 3rd level and the food was really yummy (my favorite was the chocolate dipped cheesecake bites).

After the luncheon, we all went outside with the media and suite owners for the ribbon cutting ceremony. It was really nice to be there for the "opening" of the new Cowboys stadium. The ribbon cutting ceremony lasted about 45 minutes and then we went back inside for a small reception with punch and cookies. They even had cookies with a picture of the stadium on them. I wish I would have taken a picture, but I didn't think about it at the time.

The front of the stadium (the whole front of the stadium opens up).View right when you walk in the main entrance.

The nursery is finished.

One of my goals this weekend was to get the nursery wrapped up. We washed all the clothes and bedding and put everything away. It looks so cute!

Here are a couple pictures of the finished product.

We are now in the process of putting all the "kitchen" stuff away (bottles, formula holders, etc.).

I'm getting really excited and can hardly wait for the baby to make his appearance...

One Month until Baby Thomas Arrives

Today marks exactly one month until Baby Thomas will arrive into this world. I can't believe how fast it's coming up.

We still need to purchase a few things that I feel are essential:
  • Bottles (we have some - but I don't think we have near enough)
  • Diapers (surprisingly - we only got a small pack at one of the showers)
  • Swing
  • Monitor
  • the little Papysan seat (not sure of the exact name)
  • Pacifier Clips
  • Pack N Play sheets
  • Extra changing pad covers (I'm not even going to assume that he will never pee or poop on me when I'm changing his diaper)
  • Formula (I need to talk to the doctor to find out what he recommends)

The list isn't too bad and we are hoping to get the rest of the items in the next 2 weeks.

The good news is that the nursery is done. I do still need to wash the bedding and we are still going to look for a rug, but if we don't find one it's no big deal.

Chris, Megan & Arden

Last night, we had dinner with some of our really good friends down here who are moving back home next week. Not only are they from Pittsburgh (where Tom is from), but Tom and Chris actually went to the same college in Ohio. How weird is it that they would both end up in this area!

Well, Chris found out a couple weeks ago that he would be doing more work remotely than at the office and they decided to move back to the Pittsburgh area where most of their family still resides.

Their last day in Texas in May 29th. We are really going to miss you guys!
Go Steelers!!!

Family & Friends Baby Shower

On Saturday, three of my good friends hosted a shower for me at Michelle's house. Other than the fact that I have a cold, I had a lot of fun hanging out with all my friends/family. I even won one of the shower games. :)

Me with the three hostesses (Michelle, Megan, Me & Jocelyn)

All my Family Members that attended the shower

The cake matched the nursery decor!

My First (Almost) Mother's Day

Yesterday, was my 1st Mother's Day. Tom was so sweet. He got me a cute card and a gift certificate to get a massage - which I can't wait to do!

We also went together to get pedicures (yes - Tom likes to get pedicures) at this place close to our house that I like to go to. It was nice just spending the day together.

Oh, and some other random news (that doesn't relate to Mother's Day, but I feel like I need to add it) - my cousin Christina got engaged over the weekend! Her fiance' proposed while they were on vacation in California. I'm so happy for her and can't wait for the wedding!

Busy Saturday..

We had a really long day yesterday. From 9:00 to 4:00 we took a Prepared Childbirth Class at the hospital. It was very informative, but we both need to read the book to feel more "prepared".

After the class, we ran home to get the wedding gift and headed to Hurst for our friend Nancy's wedding. Well, technically we missed the wedding and got there part way through the reception. She looked really pretty and it was nice seeing her, 2 of my Uncle's, my aunt and my mom. We only stayed for a little over an hour, since we were both really tired from the night before and the class earlier in the day.

Taste of Addison

We had a busy Friday. Once I got home from work, Tom and I headed down to Taste of Addison to meet Michelle, Byron, Madison and Michelle's parents.

We had a lot of fun walking around (even though it was really humid outside) and I even tried some Indian food from Clay Pit.

We even walked over to the rides so Madison could ride the carousel.

I was pooped by the time we left (a little after 11:00).

Work Baby Shower

On Friday, my co-workers threw a shower for us at lunch. It was really nice. They ordered pizza from I Fratelli's and had a really yummy cake for dessert.
I was happy that Tom could take off to come hang out with all of us. We received a lot of really nice gifts/gift cards and I can't wait to go through everything again and purchase some of the remaining items on our registry.

Tom decided he would play with some of the toys....

More Nursery Pictures

Since this is one of our last free weekends before the baby comes, we decided to try and wrap up the nursery.

On Saturday, we went out to buy these cute letters I had seen a few weeks ago when I was out shopping with my mom. Tom added the ribbon to hang them and I think they look perfect!

Today after church, we went to get some curtains, a curtain rod and tie backs for the window. We decided to go with white and I think we made a wise decision.

I'm so happy with how the nursery turned out. Tom put a lot of work into it with the painting, putting furniture together and hanging the pictures and curtains.

The only thing we have left is to find a rug and the room will be complete.
