Thanksgiving in Nashville

This year the Rennie family spent Thanksgiving in Nashville with Christine and Eddie (Tom's sister and her husband).

We had a very low key Thanksgiving. Christine made brunch for everyone once we got up and we just sat around watching football and looking at the Black Friday ads. We had a nice dinner that night and went to bed semi-early.

Tommy chillaxing in the tub (sorry ladies - he's not showing off the goods)

Somebody was pooped after that dinner
Friday morning, Christine and I got up bright and early to head out. We ended up getting everything on our lists and made it home a little after 8. We all took a nap and then the guys played poker with some of their friends.

Saturday we went downtown to walk around and have a late lunch at Big River. We stopped by Opry Mills mall for a little shopping before heading back to their house.

Happy Baby
We had to leave early on Sunday to make it to Dallas in time for the game (with a pit stop at my parents house for dinner).

The weekend was a lot of fun - even if it did go by too fast!

Happy Turkey Day

Since The Rennie Family will be out of town I'm going to list the things I'm thankful for a day early.

Here are a few things I'm thankful for this year:
  • A wonderful husband - I don't know what I would do without him
  • A beautiful, happy baby boy
  • Two cute puppies who still get into everything
  • Two sets of Grandparents who would do anything for us and us for them
  • My Sister - hopefully we get to see her at Christmas
  • My sister & brother in law - who we will be visiting on Thanksgiving this year (Can't wait)
  • A great job and co-workers
  • A lovely house that is perfect for us
  • Our family and friends who are spread out all over the place - I wish we could see everyone more!
I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Family/Tommy's 5 Month Photos

Yesterday, the 3 of us had our first ever family photos taken (it was also the 5 month photos for Tommy).

Even though they were running a half hour behind and it was extremely hot in there - we couldn't have asked for a better session. Tommy was flirting with the photographer most of the time (hence the smile in all the photos) and we had quite a few pictures to choose from in the end.

I'm not going to include the "Christmas Card" photo though - you will have to wait for that one!

Below are a few of my favorites from the session:

Carrots....

Well, last night Tommy and I ran to Target to pick up more formula and while we were there I went ahead and bought some of the first stage food (for the supported sitters). I ended up getting carrots, squash, peas and sweet potatoes (all veggies that I don't like).

Since Tommy isn't a big fan of the rice cereal (he makes the funniest faces when he eats it), we decided to let him try the carrots last night. Let's just say he likes carrots a LOT more than the rice cereal.

Also, we will need to inform him when he's a little older that it is not polite to have his feet on the table when he's eating. Haha.

Yum daddy

What? Do I have something on my face?

Oh well, I don't care - give me more food!

Steelers Game

On Sunday, Tim, Diana, Tom and I went to the Steelers game. What was odd this year, was that the weather was really nice - we didn't even need jackets. This was the first year I've gone where the temperature wasn't below 32 degrees.

Hmm....now that I think about it maybe that's the reason they lost. Tom and I have never been to a game where they've lost - and we've gone together the last 5 years. Everyone there is pretty superstitious. So in the future, we need to make sure we only go to cold games!

About to head out

First Trip to Pittsburgh

This weekend marked a couple of "firsts" for LT (aka Little Tommy). It was his first time on a plane and his firest trip to Pittsburgh. He did really well on the plane only crying when he was hungry. So yea!

We had a lot of fun on Saturday night, Tom's parents had family and friends over so they could all meet LT. Some of Tom's friends from college even made it up. They all have babies under the age of 2. The food was yummy and everyone had a great time.

Rice Cereal

At our appointment on Monday, the doctor mentioned that we should start feeding the baby rice cereal with a spoon so he can start getting use to using his tongue and swallowing the food.

I took a couple pictures of him tonight. Notice all the food NOT in his mouth! Haha - he's so cute. He is starting to get the hang of it though and he's starting to figure out what to do when the spoon is in his mouth. I will admit that Tom can feed him a little better than I can. I guess I'm going to have to practice more..

4 Month Checkup

Today, Tom and I took the baby in for his 4 month checkup (he's almost 4 1/2 months old). Everything looked good except for this thing on his cheek. We noticed it yesterday and thought it was a little bump or something, but when I picked him up from daycare today it had gotten a little bigger and was really red. According to the doctor, something bit him so he has to take antibiotics for 10 days to clear it up! Poor baby.

He also had 2 shots today and he did great - only crying on the second one for a couple seconds.

Here are his stats:
  • Weight: 16 lbs. 12.5 oz. (75%tile)
  • Height: 25 1/1 in. (51%tile)
  • Head Circ: 16 3/4 (49%tile)
Here are a few pictures I took today - you can see the bump on his left cheek

Cowboys Game at the New Stadium

Today, Tom and I went to the our first Cowboys game at the new stadium, while Michelle and Byron babysat for us (thanks guys!). We had a lot of fun and our seats are great! We only stayed through the end of the 3rd quarter so we could miss traffic.
