Weekend in Pittsburgh

This past weekend the Rennie's took a plane up to Pittsburgh to visit Grandma, Pappy and Aunt Christine.

We landed in Pittsburgh around 10:30 on Thursday night to a winter wonderland. They had a ton of snow on the ground from the snow storms the week before.

On Friday, Tom's mom and I went shopping in the morning. I was able to find stuff for me, Tom and Tommy and didn't have to pay sales tax on any of it. I love the tax free shopping! That afternoon, all of us went to this winery about 15 minutes away (yum!). Is it sad that Tommy's been to 3 or 4 wineries in his 8 months of living? Hmm....maybe it just makes him cultured... Since Lent started on Wednesday, we hit up this seafood restaurant for dinner. I have never seen so many Easter decorations in one place before!

Hmm...what looks good?

Saturday, the girls went shopping again and this time we found some great deals at Macy's. They had a lot of the baby clothes marked down to $3.99, plus you got to take an extra 30% off. We took advantage and bought some winter clothes for next year. That afternoon, Tom's Aunt Cheri came over with her kids to meet Tommy (they were out of town when we came up in November). We had a pizza night (Tom and I got pizzas from 2 of their favorite places in Latrobe).

Mom, quit taking picutres when I'm looking at the menu!

Sunday, Christine headed back to Nashville and Tom, Tommy and I headed over to see Chris, Megan and Aredn, friends of ours that moved back to PA from Texas last year. Megan is expecting her second baby (a boy) in July. We had a great time catching up with them and Arden loved Tommy. I'm not sure if I should be worried, but she was flirting with Tom a lot towards the end.... :) We met Tom's parents for dinner and then headed home to give Tommy his bath. We get a kick out of how excited he is at bath time.

I did forget to mention that we did make it to Primanti's for lunch one day. You can't go to Pittsburgh without having one of their sandwiches!

We got home around 9:00 on Monday night. We had a great time with the family and can't wait to see everyone again!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

After getting home from the airport and a quick lunch Tom had a little surprise for me sitting on the table.

Thanks sweetie! I love you!

Christina's Bridal Shower

This weekend I flew down to Houston so I could attend Christinas' (my cousin) Bridal Shower. Her and Aaron on getting married on March 5, 2010 at a small venue in the Houston area.

The shower was held at Baba Yega Restaurant (http://www.babayega.com/index.htm). The hostesses reserved the upstairs room, which had it's own bar - that came in handy for the unlimited mimosa's. I think about 30 people made it to the shower. The variety of food was good and they had 3 desserts - 2 cheesecakes and one cake. Yum!!
After eating, Christina opened all her presents and we took pictures. The shower lasted from 11:00 until 3:00. It was a lot of fun and she received a lot of nice gifts.

Saturday evening, Aaron made lasagna and we just hung around their townhouse talking and watching Ace of Cakes. It was a good weekend.

Almost Crawling

I'm a little sad. It seems like our little baby is about to be a crawler. After his bath, we like to give him some extra tummy time and last night he surprised us by assuming the crawling position. I happened to have the camera nearby and caught it on video.

He is so cute! You can hear him making his motorcycle sound and calling for his da-da. :( I also believe you can hear Berger snoring in the background. Aww....the hard life of a dog.

Another Snow Day

I can't believe that we had another bout of snow in TEXAS. It was so pretty yesterday (except for the driving part) and it snowed big chunks all day long.

The good thing was that we got to leave work early (2:30) and didn't even have to go in today since the building didn't have electricity.

So I'm at home hanging out with Tommy all day before I head out to Houston tonight.

Texi-Gras

Last night, Tommy's Great-Grandma came over to babysit so Tom and I could go with our neighbors to Texi-Gras at our church.

It was a lot of fun and a way for our church to raise money for St. Vincent de Paul. Red, Hot and Blue catered (yum) and in keeping with the "Texas" theme they even had an area set up for bull-riding.

After we ate dinner, we walked around looking at all the items in the Silent Auction before gambling - Craps for Tom and Tim and Texas Hold 'Em for me.  Tina and I also went out to the campfire area for a while (it was cold - so we didn't stay out there too long).

We didn't win any of the raffles, but we did stay until the end (after 11:00). Thank you so much Great-Grandma for babysitting!!!

Brushing My Teeth!

Now that I have 2 teeth - I need to brush them like a big boy (or let dad do it) so I don't get cavities.

Weekend in the big NB

This past weekend we headed to NB to see my parents before Tom starts to get really busy with tax season.

On Saturday, my parents watched Tommy so Tom and I could go shopping (my idea), have a meal that we can eat together (Tom's idea) and go see the movie, When In Rome (my idea). It was a lot of fun and everything we bought was on sale. Of course most of the purchases were for Tommy, but I did get a shirt and a pair of pants for myself.

Tommy was fussy yesterday and is drooling big time - I'm betting he's about to get a top tooth soon...
