Color Dash

On August 28th, we participated in the Color Dash. A color dash is where you run and colors are thrown on you.

The day was really nice and we all had a lot of fun. Tommy and I went together and Tom and Grace went together.

Waiting for the walk to start

Grace's Day and the 1st Day of Kindergarten

Kindergarten always starts one day after the rest of the school, so on Wednesday after we dropped Tommy off at school - the 3 of us went to Ihop for breakfast.

Grace got her Nutella crepe and then we went back over to the school so she could meet her teacher and drop all her stuff off. Gace is typically very shy - and this day was no exception. We said hello to her teacher and then did the scavenger hunt her teacher handed out. Afterwards, we stayed a little while so she would get used to the classroom and she talked to a few of the other kids there during the same time.

After we left the school, Grace and I headed off to do our girls day.

First up, going to jump around at Altimate Air. We had a lot of fun jumping together. The next thing on our list was getting a manicure and pedicure together.

We had lunch at Subway before heading back to pick Tommy up at school.

Grace woke up excited for her first day of school (until we pulled into the parking lot). I ended up walking her into school and I felt bad leaving since she was still a little upset. :(

The good news is that I pick the kids up on Thursdays, so it made me so happy to see a big smile on both of their faces when they ran out to the car. She couldn't wait to tell me all about her day.

Friday, she wasn't even a little nervous getting out of the car. She just jumped out with Tommy and went into the school. :)

Westmoreland Fair & Tommy's 1st day of 1st Grade

The night before Tommy started 1st grade, we met our friends (and one of Tommy's classmates) at the fair for dinner and some rides.

Grace was so sweet - she rode every ride with Lizzie and they had a lot of fun!

Tommy started school on Wednesday, August 24th. He was so excited to go back to school and see all of his friends again.

Florida Beach Trip

The 2nd week in August we all drove down to Seagrove Beach for our annual family vacation.

We didn't see much sun this year. I think the most we saw was on the day we left. The rest of the week it was overcast pretty much the whole day with rain randomly through out the day and night.

Vegas Trip - June

The 1st weekend in June, the four of us traveled to Dallas to stay overnight and send the kids off with my parents while Tom and I headed to Vegas for a long weekend.

Our flight out of Pittsburgh was delayed by a couple hours. So we made the most of it by letting the kids run around the Kid Zone.

Hello Tommy

Happy to get a taquito before we left Dallas

We got to Vegas early Friday morning (8:50 Vegas time) and waited around about 30 minutes for Bryon and Michelle's flight to land. Once we all had our luggage, we headed over to Aria to check in.

After, dropping off our luggage, we pretty much just walked around on the strip and hung out at the hotel until our dinner at Brand Steakhouse.

We celebrated our anniversary at dinner.

Saturday, we walked over to Paris for breakfast at Mon Ami (yum) and then hung out at the pool at Aria for most of the afternoon. It was HOT and crowded, but still nice to relax and talk.

Michelle and I

On Sunday, we walked over to Caesar's for brunch at Borders Grill (one of our favorites) and then took the monorail to the end of the strip to check out one of the new hotels. It was fun to try something different and we all actually did pretty well there. :)

I left Monday morning to head back to Dallas and get the kids, but Tom stayed until Wednesday to attend the AICPA conference.

Tommy loved his Titanic book and Grace loved her gumball machine

Playing at Love Field

So happy to be with these cuties again.

It wasn't a long trip, but we had a lot of fun with Byron and Michelle. We can't wait for our next trip together...
