Easter Egg Hunt and Coloring Eggs

On Good Friday, Tom and I took the kids to Schramm Farms (http://www.schrammfarms.com/home.php) for a little Easter Egg Hunting.

There were a ton of people there and it felt a lot colder than the 45 degrees it was because of the wind. Once we paid for the hunt, the kids had fun hunting for eggs. Since they have such a big turnout, each kid can hunt for 5 eggs.

After we found the eggs, we took them inside and turned in 4 for a treat bag and the other 1 for 2 cookies from their bakery.

The kids had a lot of fun and really enjoyed eating their cookies. :)

That night, I took the kids up to Tom's work so we could all go to dinner at this local Italian place. Once we finished eating, got home to take showers and put our jammies on...it was time for a little egg coloring.

The kids had a blast picking the colors for their eggs and then putting stickers on the eggs. Grace's choices included the butterflies and bunnies, while Tommy chose the "Church" stickers (that's what he calls anything with a cross on it.

They couldn't wait to get started

Tom is having fun too :)

Black Tie Bingo

Last Saturday, Tom, his dad and I went to the Greensburg Country Club for their annual Black Tie Bingo event.
Dressed up and ready to go

Tim and Tom

The cash bar opened at 6:00 and we got there shortly thereafter. We stood around talking and meeting new people until dinner was served. All the food was very good (my steak was a little too pink for my taste) and the cupcake dessert was yummy!
Pretty decor

After all the food was cleared and the speeches done - the best part of the evening started - Bingo! I think we played 10 games with an intermission in the middle. Only one person at our table won a round, but we had a great time. I love bingo and I'm going to convince Tom to take me more often. :)

Tom was having a little fun with the blotter

Once everything was done and we got our car, we decided to stop at J. Corks to have a nightcap.

What a fun night!

Evelyn's 1st Birthday

Last weekend, we traveled down to Nashville for Evelyn's first birthday.

The party was on Saturday afternoon. We were lucky, because the weather was really nice (in the 70s I think). Tommy spent most of the time outside with his new shin guards, soccer shoes and soccer ball playing with his future wife (the 8 year old daughter of one of Christine's friends). We actually heard him ask her if she would marry him when they are bigger. Little stinker!

Grace alternated between going inside and outside, but she had fun playing with everyone and she was so sweet to Evelyn.

Evelyn looked so cute in her little butterfly dress. She didn't know what to think with all the people around, but I think she enjoyed herself. One thing she didn't enjoy - everyone singing to her or her smash cake.

Grace is 2!

Our little Gracie baby turned 2 on March 6th.

We celebrated her actual birthday by taking her and Tommy to Chuck E Cheese for dinner and games.

Both of the kids were really excited and had a ton of fun playing the various games. Grace pretty much stayed with me most of the time and liked putting the tokens in the machines a little more than actually playing the games. Tommy liked riding the horse and found a couple friends to run around with. We had so much fun that we ended up staying until after 8.

Future TV Star (and dancing machine)

On Thursday, I picked up Grace from daycare and took her in for her 2 year appointment. She weighs 28 lb. and is 34 in. tall. The doctor said she is around the 70th percentile for both.

At 2 years old Grace:

  • Loves reading books - her favorite is Goodnight Moon
  • Wants to do everything by herself
  • Enjoys her Lucky Charms with milk or strudels in the morning
  • Very sensitive and gets upset if you get onto her
  • Knows when she does something bad and comes up to us, lays her head on us and says "I sorry" (its the cutest thing ever)
  • Starting to speak a lot more clearly
  • Picks to watch Yo Gabba Gabba or The Wiggles anytime it is her turn to pick a show
  • Shares with Tommy (most of the time) and follows him around everywhere he goes
  • Comes to wherever I am and will point her finger and say "GET UP" (bossy little thing)
  • Likes taking a shower (Tommy started doing it after he saw how much Grace liked it)
  • Loves to wear Mommy's high heel shoes around the house (or Tommy's boots)

Grace's Birthday Party

Last Saturday, we had Grace's 2nd birthday party at the house. It's a little early, but we wanted to do it while my parents were here.

We decided on a Carnival/Circus theme and held the party in our newly finished basement. We invited friends and family and had a great turnout.

Favor Table complete with game prizes and clown noses

Carnival Food

Fresh Roast Peanuts and Circus Peanuts

For the kids, we had a balloon artist, face painter and set up a few games (bean bag toss and a duck fishing game). I want to say there were 10 kids at the party and they all got along and played well into the evening.

Grace had a blast running around, playing with the face paint (too funny) and eating ice cream. Super Tommy also had a great time and other than playing the games, kept the balloon artist busy making a lot of things for him - haha.
