Babycare & CPR

In preparation for Baby Thomas' arrival, I signed us up for a babycare and CPR class at the hospital. The class was on Saturday afternoon and other than the old video's we had to watch the class was very informative.

We discussed sleep schedules, feeding schedules, diaper changes (Tom even got to practice - and did a great job), how to clean the belly button and circumcision (that part has me nervous) during the first part of the class.

The second half of the class was all about CPR. We learned how to do CPR on the baby and what you should do if the baby starts choking (not the Heimlich maneuver - haha).

Overall, we both felt like we learned a lot and felt like the class was worth it!

Nursery Pictures

Saturday afternoon Tom started painting the nursery. It was a lot of work and all I did was supervise, but I think he did a great job!

We decided to go with blue in that room and I think it looks really good with the bedding set we chose (Amy Coe's Zoo Babies).

Below are a few before and after pictures. We still have some stuff to do (i.e. hang pictures, put down a rug and purchase a nightstand), but I think the room is coming along nicely.

Jennifer's Wedding

Yesterday, Tom and I attended my friend Jennifer's wedding. She held the ceremony and reception at the Chapelle des Fleurs (http://www.chapelledesfleurs.com/) in Flower Mound.

The ceremony was very nice and the food at the reception was really yummy.

We left the wedding a little early to go visit Tom's grandma and his Uncle Butch who live in Double Oak. It was a nice way to end the weekend!

Softball

For as long as I can remember I've loved playing softball. I started playing in 2nd grade (with my dad coaching my team for a few years).

Well, a few years ago a group of friends signed up for a co-ed softball league. We started out only winning 1 game the first season and eventually worked our way up to winning the championship in Fall of 08.

Since I'm in a delicate condition this season I had to sit this one out. So now I've become a cheerleader to my friends, Tom and Kimberly (I talked my sister into taking my spot). The good thing is that my friend Michelle (and her daughter Madison) decided to be a sub so I have someone to talk to during the games.

Just Starting Out

Hi. I'm Michelle. My best friend Jocelyn begged me forever to start a blog... so here it goes.

I also started a blog because I have a lot of family and friends that live out of town, and since I don't really like talking on the phone or texting very often, I figured this was a better way to keep people up-to-date on my life, especially since I am pregnant! Also, I love reading blogs, typically of people I don't even really know... (no, I don't think that's strange), so maybe some nice stranger will find my blog and like it as well.

Sooo... until I have baby pictures to post (I'm due the end of June), I will post about all the other things I have going on (i.e., my dogs, fun dates with my husband, and getting ready for Baby Thomas).
Also, Jocelyn is here this weekend helping me with my blog... so I may have a lot of posts this weekend, and then it may take me forever to post again!
