7 Month Photos

Today, we took Tommy in for his 7 month photos. He had a lot of good ones that were hard to narrow down.

I've picked out some of my favorites (he's going to make a cute business man or hockey player):

Today, he also started scooching backwards on his tummy. He'll put his little butt in the air and push backwards with one leg. I'll have to try and get it on video.

Quick Trip to Austin

Yesterday, Tom, Tommy and I took a quick day trip to Austin to see Jocelyn's (my best friend from college) baby, Eli. He was born in December and is about 6 weeks old.

We ended up getting to Austin around noon (it's a 4 hour drive) and hung out at their house for a few hours talking and watching the babies. Eli is cute and has a lot of hair (way more than Tommy). He wasn't feeling good, so I didn't get to hold him too much. It was so cute watching Tommy. He would just stare at Eli anytime he made a noise.

We went out for a late lunch with Jocelyn at Chuy's and then headed to this winery we love - Flate Creek Estates. We had time to do a quick tasting, bought our wine and then left. We ended up getting home around 9:30.

Fun day (well..except for the driving).

Loves to shop???

I think we might have a little shopper in the family. We took the baby out this past weekend and he was having a little fun in the cart (oh - and it was his first time sitting like a big boy in the cart).

First Hockey Game

Tonight, Tom, Tommy and I went with our neighbors, Tim & Tina,  to the Allen Americans hockey game. They are a Dallas Stars Central Hockey League affiliate. The ticket prices are very reasonable and I was able to get them at a discount on one of my favorite radio station's website (106.1 Kiss FM). Woo-hoo!

We had a great time at the game and Tommy had a lot of fun taking everything in. He even got to wear his Penguins hockey jersey.

It was a fun, cheap way to spend a night out with friends.

Wow - Tom's wearing jeans & I'm not...

All the seats in the place are great!

Tommy's First Tooth

Last night when I was changing Tommy's diaper, I noticed something small and white in his mouth. I rubbed my finger around his bottom gum and what do you know - he cut his first tooth! It's so cute - and I feel like a bad mother for not noticing before.

Our little boy is such a champ. I heard from other friends that when their babies cut their first tooth they could run a fever and become really fussy. He did neither of those things and today he has been sticking his tongue out A LOT rubbing it over the tooth. Haha!

It was very difficult getting a picture that showed the tooth without him sticking his tongue out, but I did manage to get one.Oh - it also looks like the tooth right beside it will be popping through soon.

Look at that tooth

6 Month Checkup

Yesterday, we took Tommy in for his 6 month checkup. We had a lot of questions for the doctor (I guess that happens when you don't see them for 2 months).

Here are the highlights from the appointment:
  • Weight - 18lb 11.5oz.
  • Length - 27 inches
  • He gets to move up to the 2nd foods (3 times a day)
  • He had 3 shots - which he handled like a champ - he only cried for a few seconds on the last one
  • He can take a small amount of Dimetap for his cold
  • He's able to grab his feet, sit up by himself (he still falls over some though - haha), roll over, can hold his own bottle if he needs to, talks ALOT & and knows where his wee-wee is (so funny)
The doctor said that he is doing great and we go back in a month for his 2nd flu shot.

Happy New Year!

I can't believe 2009 is over already. I have to say - I think that 2009 was one of the best years of our lives, because in June we welcomed our little cutie pootie, Tommy into the world.

Our New Year's Eve was a lot of fun, but a little sad at the same time - since our friends Byron and Michelle moved back home. We did spend the night with my parents and our neighbors, Tim & Tina. We pretty much hung out, watched football, played Mexican Train (Tom won - which was a first for him - he usually has the highest score) and had fondue.
