11 Months Old

I can't believe my little man is 11 months old (well, he was on May 22nd).

We took him this morning to get some "family" photos taken. He did a great job as usual and he loves the girl that took them. He always smiles really big for her.

Tom and I also got a shot of us

At 11 months Tommy:
  • Crawls REALLY fast - especially if you are chasing him

  • Loves to stand on things (especially the TV stand)

  • Opens drawers and cabinets and cleans them out for us

  • Started eating some table foods (he's not liking the texture of some things and pushes stuff out with his tongue)

  • Started drinking a little regular milk - not much though - we've only given it to him in his sippy cup twice

  • Loves when mommy and daddy reads to him - he goes to get a book and then throws it at us

  • When I tell him to go get his bottle - he does (smart little cookie)

  • Loves to help daddy pick out shoes to wear in the mornings - haha

  • Waves bye-bye (sometimes)

  • Wears 12-18 month clothes and still in a size 3 diaper

  • Stands in his bed in the morning talking to himself and jumping

  • Likes to crawl with something in his hand (like a bottle or a toy)

  • Doesn't like mommy or daddy to hold him when he's drinking his bottle (which makes me sad)

  • Has 8 teeth (4 on the top and 4 on the bottom)

San Diego

This past weekend, Tom and I (along with some of Tom's co-workers) headed to La Jolla for the annual BKR Conference.  Tommy wanted to come with us, but he wouldn't fit in my suitcase.

We got there on Friday morning around noon and ended up spending about 30 minutes at the rental car place, which isn't at the airport (weird), before heading to La Jolla. Gary, Cindy, Tom and I decided to grab some lunch before checking in to the hotel. We drove around downtown La Jolla (which is beautiful) before settling for this cute little place with a patio.

After lunch, we went to the hotel to check in (http://www.lodgetorreypines.com/).  It's right on the Torrey Pines golf course and has views of the ocean.

For dinner that night, we went to this amazing place right on the water called The Marine Room (http://www.marineroom.com/). The food was delish and we all enjoyed looking out over the water the few hours we were there.
Look at that sunset
The group - we had a great view.

Saturday, the guys had class in the morning so the girls went to do a little shopping in downtown La Jolla. They had some cute, unique stores and the prices (on some anyway) were very reasonable. Once we got back to the hotel we ate a quick lunch and then went to change so we could hike the Torrey Pines State Reserve. We probably hiked over 5 miles with a mile being down the beach and another mile going up a winding hill (my butt/legs are still sore).

I wasn't able to take any pictures because I let Tom take the camera so he could get some pictures of the Torrey Pines Golf Course. He loved it - even though stupid American Airlines tore his golf bag and ruined 3 of his golf clubs. I think he said he shot an 88 (and the course is a 72).

That night for dinner, BKR hosted a buffet in one of the banquet rooms with a patio. It was pretty cold so we either stayed under the heaters or inside.

On Sunday, the girls went to look at the seals in La Jolla and had brunch at Cody's (http://www.codyslajolla.com/). We would have stayed out on the patio, but once again it was COLD! We did head to downtown San Diego to do a little shopping there.

I wasn't able to take any pictures, since Tom took the camera with him to get a couple pictures of the La Jolla Country Club golf course.

Sunday night for dinner, we went to Old Town San Diego and had som Mexican food at Cafe Coyote (http://www.cafecoyoteoldtown.com/). The atmosphere down there was great! I wish we could have stayed down there a little longer, but once some people heard there was a casino nearby, there wasn't any talking them out of it.

Sooo... we headed down to Barona Casino (http://www.barona.com/?cid=23) to do a little gambling. We only stayed an hour (per my request), since I needed to leave for the airport at 4:45 the next morning...

I had an awesome time in San Diego, I'm just sad the trip went by so fast. I was happy to get home to little man though. :_

Standing Up

Our little boy is getting so big that he is now able to stand up! The video is so funny, because most of the time when he is crawling he is holding something in his hand and it makes him slip and slide. Haha!

Chris' 30th Birthday Party

After a long day of Cheerleader Auditions on Saturday, Tom, Tommy and I went to our friend Chris' 30th birthday party in Allen. It was a little later when we got there (around 9), but we had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone - especially Chris, Chuck, Jocelyn & Scott.

Me, Chris & Jocelyn

We didn't know how Tommy would do since his bedtime is usually between 8:30 and 9:00, but he did great. He played with Charlie (who turns 1 on May 18th) and even had a little birthday cake before we left.

Playing with Tom's shoelace - why buy toys!

I also had to do the Cheerleader auditions today and after a long day....it was nice coming home to this:

He was so helpful STANDING UP and helping me with laundry

Our Smart Little Cookie

I sing a lot of songs to Tommy in the mornings and at night (half are made up songs about things we are doing at the time ).

I noticed these past couple weeks that when I would sing "If You're Happy & You Know It" to Tommy he actually claps his hands as I sing it. I got it on video tonight.

He always gets a big smile on his face when I sing it......hmmm..... I wonder if it's because he's happy or thinks my singing is bad. :)

First Mother's Day Weekend

This past weekend, my parents came up so we could go to the community garage sale.

My parents, along with Kimberly and Adam (my sister and her husband) and myself left early. It's a good thing we did, because we found some really nice stuff. My parents were able to buy Kimberly and Adam baby furniture (it was like new!) and I got a Direct TV receiver box (that will go out on our patio once the contractors get it finished) and a few sleepers for Tommy. That afternoon, we went shopping and then helped Kimberly and Adam set up their registries at Target and Babies R Us.

Tommy has this new thing he does --- get into EVERYTHING :)

Our little cutie pie

On Mother's Day, the girls and Tommy went to the mall in Frisco and did a little shopping (well...it did take up most of the morning) before heading home. My parents left in the afternoon. Once they left, I laid in bed reading a book watching Lifetime Movie Network (my Mother's Day wish) for about an hour, before the real world called and I got back to my chores - that I always seem to be behind on. :)

I had a pretty good first Mother's Day! ;) Oh - and did I mention that Tom picked out some beautiful flowers for us to celebrate. Love you Tom!!!
