Stitches

On Monday afternoon, I got a call from the school letting me know that Tommy had an accident and it looked like he might need stitches.

Apparently, Tommy tripped over a chair that was turned over and the metal bottom of the chair split open his skin right by his left eyebrow.

Tom and I ran up to the school to get the kids, and it was decided that I would take Tommy to Acute Kids Care to have a doctor check him out to see if he needed stitches and Tom would take Grace home.

On the way to the doctor

Looks worse up close

Tommy acted fine during the normal stuff (weight check, temp check, etc.), but when the nurse came in to clean the wound so the doctor could take a look - boy he started crying. :(

The doctor came in right after that and said that is was split too much that the glue probably wouldn't work - so stitches it was.

The nurse numbed it up with gel and he had to wear a bandage around his head for about 30 minutes. We watched TV, read books and made faces to pass the time.

So sad....

When the came back into the room - the doctor had to give him some shots in the wound of Lidocaine and then our brave little man had to get 4 stitches. He didn't like any of that and cried the whole time! I felt so bad for him.

Since he was so brave, they gave him some Toy Story stickers and a sucker on the way out AND he got to go to Chick-Fil-A for dinner.

I don't even think he notices the stitches and he has been acting normal (for a little stinker) since we left the doctors office. :)
