Dentist Appointments & A Snow Day

We had Grace's dental consultation on Feb 21st with a local pediatric dentist. The weather was actually pretty bad (lots of snow), so Tom came home from work to drive us to the appointment.

Grace was fine until we went back to the room. She was crying the entire time, even though the dentist was just looking in her mouth...

Happy before we went back

Tommy was excited to play basketball the whole time

The dentist was so nice and made sure to explain everything to me. The news was very upsetting though. Grace has very brittle/flaky teeth (something that happened while I was pregnant with her). She has 2 teeth (both molars on the bottom) that need capped - since they are the last baby teeth to go probably around the time she turns 12. He also thinks she has a few cavities that need filled, plus she needs x-rays. He recommended we put her under to do the procedures, since she would barely open her mouth for him to look in there.

We scheduled the appointment for May. I'm glad that everything will be fixed, but I'm so nervous about everything. Poor Gracie baby!!

We stayed home the rest of the day/night and decided to do our family movie night on Saturday instead of Sunday. We all cuddled on the couches with the fire going and watched How To Train Your Dragon 2.
The boys snuggling :)

  1. If Grace is scared to go to the dentist, that is totally acceptable. The truth is that even some adults are also afraid of going. Anyway, it’s great that she will be going through all the procedure, so that her teeth can stay healthy. Anyway, how is she doing now? I hope things went well. Thanks for sharing this with us. All the best!

  2. It seems like despite all the stress that Grace was going through, Tommy found a way to entertain himself while waiting. Haha! Anyway, how is Grace’s dental health nowadays? She sure had a lot of unlucky situations with her teeth, but I’m pretty sure she’ll manage to go through them. Thanks for sharing this with us. All the best!

  3. I know firsthand that going to the dentist is definitely not a pleasant experience. I can imagine that going to the dentist on a snowy day will make the task even more difficult. I’m happy that you were able to go home and relax after the dentist visit. Make this a habit to make sure you have good dental health.
