Tommy's Soccer Party

We had a very busy Saturday!

In the morning, we took the kids to get a haircut. They both are pros now. Tommy wanted wacky hair like daddy's and Grace ended up eating a sucker (I didn't realize she knew what to do with them - ha).

So handsome

After that, we went to get the balloons and headed back to the house to meet my family and to make sure the kids had naps before Tommy's party.
Getting ready for the party

We got to Frisco Indoor Sports right on time. I wanted to be there early, but these people moving a house blocked the road and ruined that plan. I talked to the people up front as soon as we walked in and they were so dis-organized EVEN THOUGH I called up the day before to make sure everything would be ready.

The party was supposed to be from 3:00 to 5:00. They didn't even have the field the kids would be on ready until 3:15 AND then the hostess didn't even do anything - the kids just ran around kicking balls. I guess I expected a few organized activities for the kids. Tommy and his friends didn't care (or even notice) - they had a great time running around.

At 4:00, when we were supposed to go back to the party room, the girl came and told me that the pizza's hadn't arrived yet so we could play a few more minutes. Arrgh! Thank goodness we brought water (they were supposed to provide) for the kids to drink. At 4:15 the pizza's finally came, so we all headed back to the (hot) party room. The kids ate pizza's, but the juice boxes were still on the way (the person got stuck in traffic) - again - thank goodness for the water we brought.

After the kids finished with the pizza, the juice boxes finally came. We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Tommy and the little stinker blew out the candle before I could get a picture! The cupcakes were a hit and I could tell  all the kids had fun, but it just upset me that my son's birthday party wasn't perfect.

The good thing (I guess), is that the people told me that I didn't have to pay the balance on the party. At least they realized they weren't doing a good job.

Once all the kids got a gift bag (with Toy Story stickers, Toy Story fruit snacks and Play-Doh), we headed back to the house so Tommy could open up his gifts from our family.

Tommy fell and hit his head on the wall (early on in the party) - poor guy

My mom and dad got him a scooter and a gun belt with guns (Tommy LOVES Back to the Future III). We got him a helmet, gas pump for his Little Tikes car, and a Little Tikes Bean Bag toss. Kimberly, Adam and Kylee got him some new Chuck Taylors.

Tommy loved his soccer party - which I'm happy about - and he kept talking about how excited he was that all his friends came.

5 Years

This past weekend, Tom and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary in our favorite vacation spot - Vegas.

We got to Vegas late Friday night - thanks mom and dad for watching the munchkins - and finally got checked in and up to our room a little after 1 in the morning. I must say I have the most thoughtful husband! Tom arranged for us to have a Corner Suite the first 2 nights, before switching to a regular room the rest of the stay (we had 3 nights comped).

Saturday morning we were up early and after eating a quick breakfast (Tom went to get danishes), we headed down to the pool for a little fun in the sun. Since Saturday was our actual anniversary, we decided to splurge and order a couple of large drinks at the pool. Guess we should have looked at the prices first - since my large Bloody Mary was $24! They are REALLY proud of their drinks - haha!

Enjoying our drinks at the pool.

We made sure to get our money's worth.

After the pool, we did a little more gambling before heading over to the Cosmopolitan for a nice dinner at STK Steakhouse. The food was very good and the atmosphere was cozy. The funny thing is that Rob Lowe walked in and sat across the way for the last 10 minutes of our dinner. Nice!

Heading out to gamble after the pool.

YUMMY food

Sunday, we got up early, went to switch rooms and then headed over to Paris for our traditional breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi. We love their food so much and the fact that they have a Bloody Mary Bar (which we both enjoyed) helps. After that, we pretty much walked the strip and gambled. That afternoon, Tom's co-worked Matt joined up with us and they played a little craps before we walked over to Mandalay Bay to try this place I read about called the Burger Bar. It was very tasty!

Who Doesn't love a big Bloody Mary?

We had to go to MGM to get our jello shots!

Tom's classes started Monday morning (he was there for a conference), so I made the trek to the airport by myself.

We had a great time and a wonderful anniversary weekend! We can't wait to go back. :)

Another Soccer Game at the Stadium

On Sunday afternoon, we headed out to the Stadium (my boss invited us to his suite) for the Mexico vs. Brazil soccer game.

Tommy was very excited to go because he is REALLY into soccer right now. As soon as we got there, the rest of us wanted to grab some food, but not our little man. He wanted to sit in the seats and watch the action. So Grace and I got busy eating (she even fed herself with a fork), Tom and Tommy watched the game.

We match! :)

Tom had to be the oddball and not wear a yellow shirt.

He has the people watching down!

We had a ton of fun and it's nice being in an enclosed space so the kids can run around without us worrying. :)
Tommy found the orange slices for the beer and helped himself.

Thank goodness for enclosed spaces.
