It was a little cooler when we got there (low 70s), but it warmed up to 80 by the time we left.
Tommy had a great time this year. The first thing we went to was called Little Hands on the Farm, where kids walk around in an apron and carry a basket with things they are to deposit into the different stations they have on the "farm." Tom and I really enjoyed watching Tommy walk around this section. He even got to ride a tractor around for a couple minutes. At the end they give you a "farm buck" for your hard work and you get to trade it in for a snack (he chose Sun Chips, but I got him Cheetos).
He didn't want to give the bucket back at the end.

After we left there, we walked around looking for something to eat. I wanted to try the Fried Chocolate (one of the new things this year), but the line was way to long, so I settled for Red Beans and Rice. After eating our lunch, we headed over to the rides where Tommy rode a little train with daddy. He didn't know what to think at first since he's only ever been on a carousel, but towards the end he was starting to point and smile.
Not sure what he thinks yet
The last thing we did was share a funnel cake and head over to the petting zoo. This was definitely Tommy's favorite thing at the fair. He was so excited to look at all the animals! His favorite were the goats and sheep and he actually touched both of them. I think the pig scared him a little bit (it was huge!) and he kept pointing at the zebras.
Tommy didn't want to take a picture - can you tell!
Look at that face!
We had a great day at the state fair and can't wait to go back next year with both of our kids. :)
