Canada Trip

The first weekend of May, we headed up to Canada for our post-tax season trip (and Tommy was out of school).

Tom picked me up from work on Thursday night and we drove the 3 1/2 hours to Niagara Falls. We got there pretty late Thursday night (around 10) and our hotel was prefect. The room had a view of the American and Canadian Falls.

Friday, we had breakfast at the hotel and then drove over to the Fallsview Indoor Water Park. It was so much fun and since it was a school day, the place wasn't crowded at all. I don't know who had more fun--us or the kids. Tom and I went on quite a few water slides and I even convinced Tommy to go with me 3 times.

Tommy also lost a tooth while we were in the wave pool! The tooth had been loose, but one of the waves hit the tube just right and Tommy bumped his face on the tube and knocked the tooth out.

Friday night, we had dinner at The Keg restaurant in our hotel and then spent the rest of the night in the hotel.

We even got to see fireworks Friday night

Saturday, we had breakfast and then walked to Clifton Hill. I had purchased passes online, so we got to do quite a few things (mini-golf, 3D roller coaster, museum, etc.) Tommy even had a wax hand made (Ironman).

We played some games at the Midway (I thought this mini Skee Ball was so cute)

We did get some bar-b-que that this cute little restaurant. It reminded me of Texas - how the inside was decorated.

Sometimes you just need a beer.

After stopping at a few more places, we walked back to the hotel alongside the falls. It was so pretty (and a little chilly) and rode the incline back up to our hotel.

Tommy and I took a little rest

We drove home Sunday morning and since it was mother's day, I convinced Tom to stop at the outlet malls so I could do a little shopping.

We stopped at the duty free store and Grace got some Kit Kats

It was such a fun trip that on the way home the kids were asking when we could go back.

April Recap

April was a pretty busy month for us.

Grace went to a dance party in early April. This was her first time doing the limbo.

We had some snow (and our deer friends came to visit).

Tom made fun of my large plate. Hey - I like Mexican food -what can I say!

Tommy had soccer every Thursday and Saturday.

Grace and I kept ourselves occupied during the game.

Tommy had blue hair at Saphrine's party.

We went to a Pirates game (Grace just learned about bunny ears - ha).

They participated at kids day and went on the obstacle course bounce house.

Waiting to run the bases after the game.

This was Grace's first time....

So cute!!!

Tommy might have been tired of pictures ;)

Grace lost her 1st tooth on April 20th

Tommy started coaches pitch baseball

Tom and I managed to get a babysitter and steak off to the casino for dinner and gambling

More baseball (Tommy got to try out the catcher position)

We definitely had a full April and May isn't looking any better. Oh well, it is fun and the kids like getting out and doing things. :)

Easter 2016

This year, my parents came up to celebrate Easter with us.

They got here on Friday. The kids and I went to pick them up (Tom was working). We stopped and had lunch at Max & Erma's, ran a couple errands and stopped at Trader Joe's on the way home. Tom got home right before us and we all headed to Polluck's for dinner.

Grace talked my parents into letting her paint their nails

Saturday, everyone (minus Tom - who was working) went shopping at the mall and got Tommy's hair cut. A little before 2:00, we headed to Latrobe for an Egg Hunt. The kids had a lot of fun and actually took a few pictures with the Easter Bunny.

The kids 1st year taking a picture by themselves (without me in the picture)

We played at the playground after the egg hunt.

Tom and my dad ran to do man things (haha - go to Lowe's) and my mom and I took the kids to Sweet Frog for some yogurt. That night, we had the Mississippi Pot Roast (so good) and just hung out at the house.

Sunday, the kids woke up and went in search of their Easter baskets. The weather was so nice - that everyone was in and out of the house most of the day. We had a nice lunch/dinner and the kids hid the eggs about 500 times (after the original egg hunt that afternoon).

Grandma & Grandpa got in on the action

Monday, my dad drove me to work and then everyone can to get me at noon, so we could spend a little more time together before going to the airport. We had time to grab lunch (Burgatory) and shop at Target.

It was a great Easter weekend!

March Galas & Birthday Parties

March was a pretty big "party" month for us. In addition to Grace's birthday, we attended 2 other birthdays (a classmate of Tommy's and Evelyn's) and 2 Galas (Aquinas & Excela).

On March 5th, I took the kids to a birthday party at a Karate place. Tommy thought it was cool and he almost won the jumping contest.

That night, we went with Tim and Diana to the Aquinas Gala. It was fun and we ended up "winning" a photography session with a local photographer.

Tom helped a little with the auction.

On March 17th, the kids and I went to Chuck E Cheese (Tom was in Philly) to celebrate Evelyn's birthday. The kids had fun running around playing games and Tommy helped Evelyn out by going into the ticket blaster.

On Saturday, March 19th we attended the Black tie Casino Gala for Excela Health. It was very nice and we all had fun playing craps (the dealer was awesome). I will admit - I missed the bingo!

Anthony & Sharon came down for the event

Grace's (Birth) Day

Since Grace's actual birthday was on a Sunday, we let her choose what we did the entire day.

Tom had to count at the church that morning, so we went up to the church hall around the time he finished and played bingo (the 3rd grade was having a food fundraiser). We didn't win anything, but the kids had fun playing. :)

We left around lunchtime and headed up to Ihop for brunch. Grace wanted to go there to get the nutella crepes (she pretty much just eats the nutella).

After we finished up, our next stop was the toy store where she spent some of the gift cards she received from her birthday party. She ended up getting a Peppa Pig train, some Shopkins, Playdoh and a couple other things.

We went home so the kids could play with the toys and then headed back out that evening to the Latrobe 30 Theatre. We got there a little early so we could get good seats and order our food before the movie started. The kids both liked the movie.

I hope Grace enjoyed having a day that was all about her. I know we all LOVED spending time with her. :)
