Father's Day/Tommy's Birthday Weekend

We started out Father's Day/Tommy's Birthday weekend by having Donuts with Dad at the kids school. The kids love when we stay to have breakfast with them at school. 

Tom took me to work that day, since I was only working half a day and they were going to pick me up to start our journey to DC.

We got to Washington around 4:00 and after checking into our hotel (right across from the Pentagon), we freshened up and took the Metro over to Nationals Park for the Pirates game that night.

The stadium was nice and the kids loved playing on the playground, but the restaurant in the park left much to be desired. It took FOREVER to get our food and our waitress wasn't very friendly. We did enjoy the game though (even with a little rain).

Saturday morning, we had breakfast at the hotel and then took the Metro over to the Air & Space Museum. Tommy & Grace liked looking around at everything. Tom and Tim had a blast doing the flight simulator (they were like kids - haha).

After the museum and lunch at Elephant & Castle - we went back to the hotel for the kids to swim.

That night, we signed up to do the night tour. It looked like it would be a lot of fun - and it probably would have if it didn't start raining right after we pulled out of the station. We thought it would be a small thing that passed, but not so much. It not only rained harder, but hailed on us!! We decided at the Lincoln Memorial stop to just take a taxi back to the hotel. It was a smart move on our part, because the storm got worse right after we jumped in the taxis.

On Father's Day, we had breakfast and then drove to the Jefferson Memorial. The kids took a break from running around to pose with Daddy.

We left Washington around noon that day and Tom and I suffered in the front seat for the first 45 minutes (and it was an unusually hot day), because his air conditioner was acting up. We were sweating so bad. It finally kicked on, but man what a way to end the trip! Happy Father's Day to you Tom - haha!

A Haircut & Anniversary Celebrations

It's been a while since I took Grace to get her hair cut. I booked an appointment at my salon for June 13th. Grace did a great job (sometimes she can be shy) and warmed up to the girl cutting her hair pretty fast!

That night, Tom and I went to The Melting Pot in Pittsburgh to celebrate our 8th anniversary. After dinner we made a quick stop to the Rivers Casino to give them a little of our money before heading back home. It was a fun night!

Girls Day/Night

Grace and I spent most of June 6th together without the guys.

That morning, we headed to Pittsburgh to meet a friend (and co-worker) and her daughter at Gaynor's School of Cooking for a Mommy & Me class. She had a lot of fun cooking and playing with Nola. 

There we 5 kids in the class. We made turkey meatballs, fruit dip & a blueberry sauce for ice cream.

After the class, we headed home to hang out with Tommy for a few hours before going back to Pittsburgh for the Taylor Swift (thanks Tom!) concert. Grace was so excited for her first "big gifl" concert.

We had club level seats, so we got there about an hour before Taylor went on to have dinner together.

After dinner, we went to our seats and waited for Taylor to come on. Grace had a lot of fun at the concert. She liked being able to see everything and loved the bracelets that would light up different colors to the music.

I could tell that she was getting tired towards the end, but she wanted to make sure we heard Bad Blood & Shake It Off, which happened to be the last 2 songs she sang.

While I loved the concert, I hated the traffic afterwards. It seriously took us an hour to move one mile down the road!!! Grace was a trooper - she stayed up with me until we got on the interstate (at midnight) and then fell asleep.

I loved having a girls day with my little girl! :)

PICPA Officer Induction Dinner

On May 29th, Tom, Tim, Diana & I attended the PICPA Southwestern Chapter office induction dinner at Chestnut Ridge Resort & Golf Course.

Tom is now on a 2-year term as a member of the executive committee.

After the nice dinner, we spent the rest of the night playing casino games. Tom convinced me to play craps with him. It was a lot of fun and we won a lot of tickets. :)
